Details:
There are a couple of small dents and some scratches but it is still solid. Up for sale is this estate rescued Rheem califone 3085A 2 speed reel to reel tape player and recorder.
This unit also has a slide switch at the top to select between UPS or UPS speeds. The sound gets very loud which doesn come through on the video. The electrical plug was faulty so we replaced the entire power cord with a new one.
This unit also has jacks for monitor and external speaker outputs and both low and high level inputs.
This unit works great as seen in the YouTube video at the end of this. GSR veers 605 gs 6. This unit has really great sound.
The outside case of this unit is all metal. The VI meter works during both recording and playback. As you can see in the video, we recorded from both an iPod and using a microphone.
We then sprayed the volume and tone controls to remove the static when adjusting them. This unit measures x including the rubber feet x and weighs 29 lbs. As you can see in the photos, the cover has openings so that it can be attached with a reel on the right spindle.
This unit would work as a guitar amplifier and recorder for the real old school sound and look. We found a sticker that showed a date of 1969. They need to be slid at the same time then the cover can be lifted off.
As you can see in the video the counter works as well do all of the functions including rewind, fast forward and pause. A great old unit ready to work for you. Included are 2 rubber tape reel holders and an empty take up reel.
