The reason this machine is called a 'recorder' rather than a 'deck' is because it has built in speakers and power amplifiers, so it can be used by itself without any other amps, wires or speakers. Classic Rheem Roberts akai 8l iii reel to reel 8 track recorder w tube amps and speakers popular in the late 60's, this reel to reel recorder would play and record your and UPS tapes as well as 8 tracks and even convert your reel to reel tapes into 8 tracks to play in your car. All pictures are of the actual items offered for sale, not stock photos. This unit has been in storage for many years but still works.
Sold as is due to age. Rheem Roberts was the importer for akai.
All the pots and switches need to be cleaned be cause they are producing static and switching noise.
