I am not sure if it works however, put in three batteries nothing happened don't know buttons are stuck or needs reels to be on. Side compartment door works properly.

When I plugged the 9 volt in there was static coming from speaker. Battery compartment looks to be in great shape. Looks like new inside even has original ear piece and microphone.
