Heads are in very nice condition, transport is working as it should and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced on the reproduce and bias cards as shown in the photos. Please feel free to ask any and all questions.

This 440b is in excellent original cosmetic shape and you would be hard pressed to find another that is even close to being in as good condition. For sale is an extremely beautiful example of the legendary Ampex 440b 8 track 1 inch recorder from the late 60s early70s.

All original Ampex transformers photographed are intact and guaranteed to be functioning to spec. This machine has been regularly serviced by Len Horowitz of history of recorded sound while in my possession for the last 6 years. Final sale.

Allowing basic tracks to be cut to tape with a distinct sound before dumped into the digital domain. Owners manual and full schematics are included in the sale as well as a 1 inch Mel tape.
