This is a reel to tapecorder, as it was called. Unit comes complete with a Sony microphone and earphone. The TC-905A uses four 25 CDC Ni-cad batteries for portable use.

Previously owned and used vintage Sony tapecorder model number TC-905A with the matching ssa-905a power supply audio amplifier. Cover has some blemishes but looks pretty decent. I read this was the very first portable table top tapecorder made by Sony.

The unit has two speeds by changing included capstan drive attached to tape cover.
