The tape door opens slowly and doesn't spring quickly open due to its age and it's design is to open slowly to retrieve the tape counter zeros out nicely and accurately. This tape machine is in amazing like new condition. Machine runs of c batteries as well the speaker of the tape recorder is surprisingly powerful for a small unit. Happy buying.
It was designed for computer data storage but works well with music or speaking all parameters function on this machine. Tape machine also has a very functional handle that can be pulled out while carrying it. Cassette tape door is by design a grey color, not due to age. Vintage cassette data recorder Tandy ccr 83.
It has a beautiful well made weight to it. It doesn't feel cheap at all when you hold it or pick it up. All buttons and switches work like new. Tape machine has barely noticeable marks in its casing.
Awesome piece of computer audio history. Cassette machine works even for storing and retrieving unique data such as electronic musical synthesizer sound data. Tape machine weights probably 1, 1/1 2 lb. I will include a blank tape with the machine.
Tape machine doesn't come with batteries but I do have the original power plug. This vintage tape machine was designed specifically for data storage for tape based computers such as the coco color computer back in the 80s.
