No rebates or approvals, please. I got it on the bench and brought up line voltage with a Mauriac to avoid frying long-sleeping filter capacitors. At full line voltage , the three motors show signs of needing lubrication, for they are moving a bit sluggishly. To supply steady drag on the reels, Bell put low- voltage dc reel and ac makeup spool, those functions are working right.

This deck is clean and will perform like 1968 if it gets some fresh lube on the two reel motors. In this deck, the makeup and supply reel motors are electronically controlled there no drive belts or friction mechanisms present, so tape motion is unusually smooth. Plays two or four-track tapes up to 7 inch size.
The two record play preamps are working fine and level indicators OK. The two-speed capstan motor is OK, drive wheel has a dent in its rubber that will ride up with wear. This is heavy.
