Also comes with an empty 3 reel and a 3 reel with tape on it. 5 volt batteries from the battery compartment. This recorder shows very little signs of usage, only wear marks shown are where the magnetic cover closes on each front corner of the case.

Estate find vintage portable Poppet 401 all 4 transistors tape recorder iob from this is one cool little piece of early reel to reel history. Only thing missing from this whole package is the magnetic small earphone. I pulled a 9 volt battery and the actual reel to reel has no cosmetic issues with it.

The battery terminals could use a slight cleaning slight surface rust on them, the Styrofoam carrying case is missing a piece from it, one side of the Styrofoam has tape on it, and the lid cover of the carrying box has came unglued, there is a piece of clear plastic tape on the top cover where the name Poppet is. Two tone in color, no cracks or breaks in the case. I have not attempted to place any batteries in it to check for operation of this machine.
