Details:

I took the removable face off the front of the reel unit picture when I turn to rewind the right reel turned briefly and then stopped after a couple seconds. I let it say like for 5 minutes and nothing changed. It looks like it was used a few times in its life. I suspect if I had reels properly installed the tension of the tape would keep the reel motors functioning.

That is the extent of my testing on this unit.

I then turned the dial to play the left reel started to turn and then it stopped after a couple seconds. Plugged it in. Please see pictures and use your judgement includes everything you see functionality I hooked up the power cord. Again the cosmetic condition is very good.

I do not have reels to test this fully. Picture 3 shows the internal mechanism at stop. This is being sold as is as described as pictured. Then when I turned it back to stop the mechanism reverted back to picture 3.

But again I do not have reels for this. Again the internal mechanism changed. Turned the power knob and the front panel lights up and I hear a low hum of some internal motor. The internal mechanism changed to picture 4.

I do not know if this needs an oiling or anything like that. Estate sale purchase sears reel to reel this is really nice cosmetic condition.
