There are no errant sounds, squeals, whistles or whines from the unit when it turns on. Beyond that I cannot speak to its quality. Available is this lovely and vintage Panasonic rs 700d reel to reel play and record machine.
It is in very clean and working condition. The speakers did create sound when unit was turned on and it had been stored in a closet for many years.
It was tested for speed and function but did not have reels played on the heads. There are no visible dings or dents to the unit and the cover is still in very nice condition for all these years.
