The record function was not tested. This unit weighs in at 51 pounds packed. This system uses tape cartridges with quarter track format on 1/4 inch tape. The microphones were not tested the speed accuracy, wow, and flutter were not tested.
The neon record indicators were not tested all controls, switches, idlers and mechanical parts will need to be cleaned and lubricated the case has dings, scratches and needs to be cleaned. Please look over the photos carefully and ask all of your questions before buying. This unit has been partially tested as follows amplifier works well no filter cap hum. Included are 4 of the tape cartridges in their original boxes.
It can be used with it's line inputs as it stands, and or with the change of the de emphasis components, the tape head input could be changed to a magnetic phono input. The second stereo channel plays through a remote speaker which is not included.
Offered is a rare Rca Victor stereo orthophonic cartridge recorder player from the late 1950's. The original Rca microphones with the Rca nipper emblem on the rear are included. The amplifier chain from the playback head to the speakers has been tested the motor which is sluggish to start up, the capstan, and the take up drive all rotate. The pressure pads on the tape guide system small felt pieces will need to be replaced this unit is otherwise complete and could be restored to operating condition.
Shipped ground to the lower 48 only. The system is all tube and features a single ended 6v6 stage as an output for each channel. Unlike the 8 track cartridge which came later, these cartridges are flipped over to play the second side.
