I have read that there is an adjustment on the motor circuitry that will correct this, but not sure. I have tested the forward play function by running an 1800 ft tape from beginning to end with no issue of take up tension. It is being listed as accurately and as honestly as possible with any known defects disclosed. Also I must disclose that on fast forward rewind the motors slow down as they get heavier with tape.

Please remember you are buying vintage electronics. This item should not be considered as a unit in perfect working condition.
