He is the Crown technical guru, and a nice person as well. I have just decided to sell it, and therefore been testing it out. This explains why one was packed away. And for its very low usage.
I have owned this machine since the early 70s and used it very little. I will pack it very carefully, box-in-box. I owned several Crown units at one time, just love them. It has been carefully stored away for over 25 years.
I am amazed out how well it still performs. Records and plays back, great quiet sound. Due to the age of this machine I am selling it as-is. The breaking system works fine in all modes.
It may need some twerking, or bias adjusting. I have never had a problem with it. The capstan belt is excellent, because I stored it off machine.
It is built like a tank. It is in a Crown mint condition carrying case.
