The first thing that it needs is new caps. I'm not sure I know all there is to know about this machine, but it was built rather well.
That said it's an 'as is' deal. And that comes from a guy that's been in the business for years depends on how you count.
Looks like it had a front cover. All that sort of stuff but it doesn't roll tape youth. All the functions seem to work. When you switch to playback mode, there is dc noise on the output.
Akai x 355d tape machine UPS with what I assume is the exceedingly rare reel option. Fast forward rewind. Record mode works. Surprisingly well, actually.
Be 9j ON 3 LBJ somebody save this potentially wonderful machine from the dumpster. I shot a little video just hitting buttons. It will take some TLC to put it back in good shape.
