While there are other clear leader tapes floating around, this is thicker and far stronger. This leader is about the same thickness as total of a roll 1.
Its best to use a mechanically stable leader that is around the same thickness as your recording tape or thicker for performance in decks transport. They also don't match the total thickness of any recording tape out there.
Note: in recording tape jargon, 5 mil recording tape. This leader is perfect for optical sense open reel decks like a rev ox a-77. This leader is bi axially oriented and thermally stabilized, so it will resist stretching or cupping unlike any other clear on the market.
These 2 mil leader tapes are 1/4 x 1000' on a plastic 7 reel which can easily be re-used and itself is 6 value. One thing we found with all other clear leader tape could find is they are so thin they're hard to handle the point of being maddening, and do not hold up over time harder thread.
