If you prioritize powerful sound, high-quality components, and a vintage aesthetic, and are willing to accept its drawbacks, the Sansui 990DB could be an excellent addition to your audio setup. On the other hand, if you prefer a more compact, modern, and energy-efficient amplifier, you may want to consider other options. Ultimately, the decision depends on your audio preferences, budget, and space constraints.
The Sansui looks in excellent condition and only one channel works.
This is my extra gear and it has been on the shelf without using since I bought over a year ago. Now, everything works properly excepts the left channel is not. There are some very minor chips missing on the bottom, one tiny burnt mark top right side of wood cabinet, and hair size scratches here it. The receiver was working properly 7 months ago and that my very last time to turn it on.
Again, no left channel and I am selling this rare receiver as is. I live in a small town and there are no vintage audio gears technicians around here that know how to work on this old receiver so hope it goes the good home.
