I have never tried to use this, instead keeping it only for display.

Serial number not included: empty take-up reel shown for illustration. I can't remember if have ever used the word rare in any of my listings over last 21 years, so maybe its time. Strengths: good cosmetic condition no handwriting, engraving, battery corrosion, weird odors, or other unpleasant surprises.

It doesn't require reel clamps to secure the tape, instead using wire spring pensioners hold reels they work well. Original mic. Please feel free to ask any questions before buying.

I note that the lever-actuated drive mechanism moves smoothly and securely, pinch roller is still squishy, see no obvious signs of damage or repair attempts. There are areas on the top deck that look like scratches, but close examination suggests some kind of chrome dribble as an explanation. It slides very precisely over the capstan. I will supply this with what believe to be the original mic it fits very securely, but its brand badge is missing.

Made in japan. Bottom battery door opens with a slide latch no tools required.

I haven't been able to learn much about this recorder. All photos are of the actual item offered in this listing, and have not been modified.

Freeman senior 550-A reel to recorder, capstan drive untested: parts, repair, restoration, etc. Included: recorder and mic, as shown. There is minor scrape wear from the reel rotation.

Colors were a little hard to capture the paint looks more gray than brown me, and that chrome is just chrome, not gold tone some of photos might suggest. 5 day offer. Heavily chromed finish in very nice cosmetic condition. Heavy flywheel mechanism. I've found a few references on the web for Freeman without suffix or senior tag, smaller and entirely different machine, but nothing this model.

I have no knowledge of whether it works or not. It seems to accommodate 4 reels, although the take-up reel I tried seemed almost scrape rear hinge. This manufacturers tape recorders were also sold under the name Citroen.
