Sold as is due to the age and problems noted there may be other hidden it over 60 years old. There are SAM's photo facts on these that will show how to service the tape transport. Lights do not work. For sale here is a vintage Crestwood reel to tape recorder.

I found one in the Henry ford museum with serial 7038 that is similar to it but has more knob, possibly a speed changer. Modern tape I had moved backwards and at a higher speed. Right to left on play. This is a near museum piece in need of some restoration but inside and both chassis's are very clean.

Also it appears to be running backward compared a modern recorder. This one appears to be speed only. Exercise caution when working on these old machines.

Line cord still works but is getting stiff. I could not get record to work but it takes a mono cable. Its serial number is I could not find a model for it. Rewind works but slows to nothing on full.

Also seems to need be plugged in with proper polarity or slight shock is possible from metal parts. Shipping weight is 25 lbs. The has minor hum but is working with good volume.
